Burnley girls get tips from the top

Promising Lancashire cricketer Kathryn Cross passed on some helpful tips to young cricketers from Burnley District Girls at a winter skills session.

Bury born Cross - the first female to be awarded an Academy cricket contract by Lancashire - met 15 enthusiastic youngsters at St Peters Centre in Burnley.

Cross, who is a member of the England Women's Academy Squad, participated in a question and answer session before assisting with coaching the under-13 and under-11s.

Qasim Ali, Community Cricket Coach for Burnley Sport and Play Development Unit, said the young girls could look up to Cross.
