Kent could be just one win away from regaining the LV= County Championship which they surrendered to Sussex last season.

The unbeaten side, who boast an impressive record of eight wins from as many games, maintained their title push last weekend with a convincing 184-run win over Surrey.

Tammy Beaumont was the star of the show with 136 at the top of the innings as Kent made 294 for six from their 50 overs. England captain Charlotte Edwards chipped in with a quickfire 54.

Joanna Watts then ran through the Surrey top five en route to impressive figures of 5-31 as Kent cruised to victory to remain 20 points clear at the top of the table.

A similar result over Somerset on Sunday could see Edwards get her hands on the trophy for the third time on four years.

Current holders Sussex need to beat third-placed Nottinghamshire and hope Kent slip up to reignite any aspirations they might have of retaining their title. Should Sussex win and Kent lose then the title would be decided on the final day with the top-two set to meet each other in a potentially thrilling finale.

Yorkshire have run away with the Division 2 title despite there being two games remaining, second placed Middlesex unable to bridge the unassailable 46-point gap before the end of the season.

The two teams met on Sunday with Middlesex knowing nothing less than a win would suffice. Yorkshire had other ideas and boosted by a 147-run opening stand between Kathryn Doherty and Salliann Briggs ran out comfortable winners by 96 runs.

Just 31 points separate three sides at the top of Division 3 although leaders Devon remain favourites to win the title.

Devon could wrap up the championship on Sunday if they beat Scotland and Worcestershire and Staffordshire fail to beat Hampshire and Derbyshire respectively.

A similar outcome awaits the top three sides in Division 4 with Wales on the verge of lifting the trophy.

Wales will be crowned winners if they beat Hertfordshire and Durham, who are 20 points adrift, fail to beat Northamptonshire.

In Division 5 Netherlands and Cumbria, winners of the South & West and North & East sections respectively, will have a play-off on Sunday to see who is crowned the overall champion.
