Six of the 2008 Sussex women’s County Championship team are set to run the “Race for Life” in July.
Sussex captain Alexia Walker, Rosalie Birch, Charlotte Burton, Clare Connor, Sara Lord and Charlotte Russell will run 5km in Brighton on July 4 for Cancer Research.
They will be joined by a number of budding young stars from the girls Under 11 and Under 13 County squads along with players from Hastings & St Leonards Priory Cricket Club.
Sussex women & girls’ community coach Charlotte Burton said, “The Race for Life is important to all of us. A number of our close family and friends have been affected by cancer at some stage and without the phenomenal work of Cancer Research some of them would not be here today.
"We would like to give something back to such a wonderful and vitally important cause by raising as much money through sponsorship as we can.”
