Captain Charlotte Edwards challenged England women to raise their standards even further despite seeing them continue their global domination by retaining the Ashes.
A draw in the only Ashes Test at New Road yesterday was enough to ensure the trophy remained in England, the latest triumph in five months of unprecedented success for the world’s premier team.
England won the World Cup in Australia in March, before lifting the World Twenty20 trophy at Lord’s last month.
Edwards, who hit an unbeaten 53 on a rain-interrupted final day in Worcester to stave off the faint threat of defeat, insists her side are capable of much more.
“The team want more trophies now,” she told ECBtv. “There’s more to come from this team.

“I keep saying it but I know there is because they’re so young and they want to learn and get better. We’ve got competition for places, so to me that breeds success.
“I’m looking forward to the next couple of years with this team; they’re an exciting bunch to be around. We just want more and more success.”
Despite having collected the full house of trophies during her spell in charge, Edwards revealed she had no plans to call time on her playing career.
“I’m not going away,” the 29-year-old added. “I’m playing as well as I ever have done; I would be stupid to pack up now. We just want to keep playing cricket together and keep winning.
“It’s a great atmosphere around the group and we just want to continue our success over the next couple of years and longer than that. That World Cup in four years’ time is something we’ve got our eyes on.”
As for the immediate future, Edwards confirmed she is ready for a much-deserved breather.
“I’m going to have a well-earned rest,” she said. “I think when I reflect on what has happened over the next few months I’m going to look back on it as four of the most special months of my life.
“I’m chuffed to bits and chuffed for the girls because I know how much hard work has gone into this success. I’m now looking for more.”
