England women spread the word amongst the locals in South Africa. "Hopefully we have inspired them," said Heather Knight

Seven England women’s players took time out from their busy schedule to join schoolgirls for a cricket session run by LoveLife Games and Cricket South Africa in Potchefstroom.

Girls from local primary schools were delighted to meet the England players and enjoyed a fun afternoon of cricket - as well as picking up some tips along the way.

"It was good fun and really nice to see the girls enjoying cricket," said batsman Heather Knight, who joined Jenny Gunn, Arran Brindle, Danielle Hazell, Georgia Elwiss, Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont on the visit.

“Although we have a busy schedule out here, it was great to be able to fit the visit in and meet some of the children.

"Hopefully we will have inspired the girls to continue playing cricket and live a healthy lifestyle.

“We’ve all been preparing well in Potchefstroom and are ready for the first game of the series on Friday.”
