Free entry for women's Ashes Test

England Women

England Women, who won the Ashes in 2005 and in 2007, will take on Australia at New Road in a one-off npower Test

Spectators are being offered free entry to watch England women defend the Ashes at New Road, Worcester, this weekend.

The four-day npower Test begins on Friday as England look to retain the crown they won in 2005 and defended in 2007.

England captain Charlotte Edwards, recently awarded an MBE, will lead the same squad that lifted the World Cup in March and the World Twenty20 last month.

On the day before the match, Thursday 9 July, the England team will parade the trophies through the town centre, starting at Crowngate shopping centre at 3.30pm. The parade will culminate at the Guildhall for photos with the mayor of Worcester, Cllr Andy Roberts.

A guard of honour will be formed by various groups at the start of each day of play. Other activities will take place throughout the match, including an ASDA Kwik Cricket tournament, while the ECB's Cricket factory will be on site on Sunday and Monday for children to test and develop their cricket skills
