Beth Morgan has been summoned to join the England women's squad in South Africa after Katherine Brunt was ruled out with a back injury

Beth Morgan has been called into England women’s squad for the remainder of their limited-overs matches in South Africa after pace bowler Katherine Brunt was ruled out of the tour through injury.

Brunt, 26, is suffering from a back injury and bowled only two overs in England's win in the opening one-day international in Potchefstroom yesterday before being forced out of the attack.

She will return to England for further assessment and treatment, providing an opportunity for 30-year-old Morgan, a veteran of 72 ODIs and 25 Twenty20 internationals, to impress.

The second and third one-day internationals take place at the same venue tomorrow and on Tuesday, followed by three T20 matches also in Potchefstroom.
