Edwards, Taylor and Shrubsole on the rise
England women’s trio Charlotte Edwards, Sarah Taylor and Anya Shrubsole have climbed the Reliance International Cricket Council women’s one-day international player rankings following impressive performances during their recent whitewash of New Zealand.
Captain Edwards, who was crowned ICC’s Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2008, moved up to third in the latest rankings following 230 runs in the three-match rubber.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Taylor’s 109 off 113 balls, including nine fours, in the final ODI helped her move up one position into fifth.
England’s 20-year-old fast bowler Anya Shrubsole, who was named player of the series against the White Ferns, continued her good form with five wickets, helping her return to 59th position in the rankings table.
