Standing ovation for Connor's victorious side
Clare Connor's England side were honoured at The Brit Oval as they were presented with the npower Women's Test Series Trophy and the Ashes - and given a standing ovation by the capacity crowd.
Drawing the first Test against Australia at Hove, England wrapped up their first Test series victory over rivals Australia since 1963 with a six-wicket win at New Road in August.
And with the Ashes safely secured, the full team and captain Connor were greeted as heroes during the tea interval on day two of the decisive men's fifth npower Ashes Series Test at the Oval.
The players were introduced in batting order, followed by Connor - who was presented with the silverware by ECB chairman David Morgan, and chief executive David Collier.
They were then invited to do a lap of honour. And with Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory blasting out of the PA system, the Oval crowd rose and cheered and applauded them all the way round.
