Pickford lands George Reah award
England women's selector Sarah Pickford has won the George Reah Special Award at the Yorkshire Cricket Board awards for a lifetime's dedication to cricket in the county.
Pickford is well known in Yorkshire and throughout women's cricket for her commitment to the game.
Pickford took over the reins as chair of the Yorkshire Women's Cricket Association committee after the retirement of Barbara Hare.
She set out clear, aims, objectives and goals, and her tireless enthusiasm for these is what has been recognised.
She was never afraid to embrace a difficult situation if she thought the outcome was for the best of the people playing cricket and their development.
It is this ethos which has been key to the success of the Yorkshire women's cricket team over the last few years.
