Afghanistan completed a two-game whitewash of Scotland with Twenty20 international victory by seven wickets in Sharjah thanks mainly to Hamid Hassan’s 4-22.

Hassan’s haul helped limit Scotland to 139 for seven, which Mohammad Nabi’s men overhauled with 15 deliveries to spare. Mohammad Shahzad led the charge with a 25-ball 46.

Opening batsman Karim Sadiq also chipped in with a tidy 34, as only Iain Wardlaw’s 2-32 made an impact with the ball for Scotland.

Their innings contained three starts but no big score, with Calum MacLeod, Matt Machan and Moneeb Iqbal all falling in the thirties. Beyond that trio, Scotland’s highest scorer was the extras column with 17.

The sides will now play two one-day internationals before a four-day fixture which starts a week tomorrow.
