Shahid Afridi

Having reversed his decision to retire, Shahid Afridi has been recalled to Pakistan's squad to face Sri Lanka in five ODIs and one Twenty20

Pakistan have recalled Shahid Afridi for their limited-overs matches against Sri Lanka.

Afridi, who recently reversed his decision to retire from international cricket following the departures of Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt and coach Waqar Younis, has been included in a 16-man squad.

Another experienced all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq, also returns to the fray along with Umar Gul, but there is no place for Wahab Riaz, who was omitted for the recent Tests against the same opponents and saw Junaid Khan and Aizaz Cheema impress in his absence.

Misbah-ul-Haq retains the captaincy, while Sarfraz Ahmed, who last represented Pakistan in a Twenty20 fixture against England in February 2010, has been handed the wicketkeeping gloves ahead of Adnan Akmal and Mohammad Salman.

The first of five one-day internationals takes place in Dubai on November 11, with a solitary Twenty20 international following in Abu Dhabi on November 25.

Pakistan squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Younis Khan, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman, Umar Gul, Aizaz Cheema, Junaid Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq.
