Pakistan seamer Mohammad Asif will appear before the Indian Premier League anti-doping tribunal on November 29, his lawyer said.
Asif, 25, tested positive for the banned stimulant nandrolone during the inaugural IPL this year.
He has already appeared before the IPL panel - which consists of former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, doctor Ravi Bapat and lawyer Shirish Gupte - but that meeting was adjourned without a decision being taken.
Asif's lawyer, Shahid Karim - who questioned the jurisdiction of the IPL panel in the preliminary hearing - is still hoping for a quick end to the case.
"We have worked on legal and medical aspects of the case and hope that the tribunal will make a decision at the hearing on November 29," he said.
"Evidence will be recorded during the hearing, and we will present testimony.
"It is our chance to fight the case - and we will give it our all, since this is a matter of my client's international career.”
Asif was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board from all forms of cricket following the adverse test, in keeping with World Anti-Doping Agency rules.
