Nathan Lyon

Nathan Lyon, right, has gained a recall to Australia's team for the final Test against India. Mitchell Starc makes way for the off-spinner

Off-spinner Nathan Lyon has been recalled by Australia for the fourth Test against India.

Lyon will return to the side at the expense of left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc, who can count himself unlucky to miss out at the Adelaide Oval having impressed in Perth.

Australia are aiming to complete a series whitewash, and have resisted the urge to rest any of their frontline pacemen. Instead, captain Michael Clarke explained it had simply been a case of picking the best outfit possible.

“We think that's the best 11 to give us every chance to win this Test match,” Clarke said.

“Winning the last two Test matches in less than five days has helped everyone recover. The experience of the other three quicks (Ben Hilfenhaus, Peter Siddle and Ryan Harris) will play a part in these conditions.”

“Reverse swing is going to play a huge part in this Test match and then later on (it gets) a bit up and down. Those three guys can bowl at the stumps quite consistently.”
