Bond announces Kiwi retirement
New Zealand paceman Shane Bond says he will not play for his country again even if New Zealand Cricket decides to select him.
Bond, who played his last Test in 2007 against South Africa, had his central contract with the New Zealand board cancelled.
"I am quite disappointed with that and the way they treated me,” Bond admitted. "I don't want to represent New Zealand in Test matches or one-day internationals any more."
The 33-year-old has played 17 Tests and 67 one-day internationals in a career spanning six years. He has claimed 79 Test wickets and 125 ODI wickets.
"I still enjoy playing the game," he said. "It has given me a nice career and financial security as well.
"I would like to get involved in coaching in this country (India) which, I think, has scores of young cricketers with enormous talents."
