TwelfthMan: My account
Ijaz Butt has been appointed chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The former wicketkeeper-batsman takes over from Nasim Ashraf, who resigned in August just after Pervez Musharraf stepped down as the country's president.
Ashraf was appointed by Musharraf in October 2006 and said he felt morally obliged to quit once Musharraf had stepped down.
The 73-year-old Butt was appointed through a sports ministry notification.
Butt played eight Tests for Pakistan in the 1950s and also served as chairman of the selection committee.
