Australia lose Clarke to injury

Australia require a new captain for Friday's CB Series game against Sri Lanka after Michael Clarke was ruled out with a hamstring strain
Australia will be without captain Michael Clarke for their next Commonwealth Bank Series game, against Sri Lanka, due to injury.
The 30-year-old sustained a hamstring strain in the field during the four-wicket one-day international defeat to India yesterday, with scans revealing he will be unavailable for the match against Mahela Jayawardene’s side in five days' time.
However, Australia are hopeful their skipper will return for the next meeting with India on Sunday.
Australia team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said: “Michael Clarke sustained a low grade right hamstring strain in the ODI versus India in Adelaide on Sunday.
“He had scans that confirmed the low grade nature of the injury.
“He will not recover in time to play in Australia’s next Commonwealth Bank Series game on Friday in Sydney against Sri Lanka but I will assess him later this week and decide on his availability for the game in Brisbane on Sunday 19 February against India.”
Australia will name their squad for the next block of CB Series ODIs tomorrow.
