Jack Clarke has been elected as the new chairman of Cricket Australia.
The South Australian solicitor takes over from Creagh O’Connor, who retired today after three years in the post and 11 years on the board.
Clarke, a Cricket Australia director since 1999, has filled the role of deputy chairman for the last year.
He paid tribute to O’Connor and his impact throughout the game, saying: “Creagh has won the respect of the global cricket community for his measured diplomacy at a time of complex international issues which have been managed on a culturally diverse world stage.”
