Rain washed out the first day of the second Test between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Mirpur without a ball being bowled.
Grant Elliott had been drafted in to replace Jacob Oram after the New Zealand all-rounder was ruled out with a back injury, but neither team was able to take the field at the Shere Bangla National Stadium with play eventually abandoned for the day in the early afternoon.
The Black Caps lead the series 1-0 following their three-wicket victory in Dhaka.
