Two-time defending ICC Intercontinental Cup champions Ireland will play Namibia at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth, from October 30 to November 3 - should they qualify for this year’s final.
Coach Phil Simmons’ side need to take maximum points, or win avoiding a first-innings deficit, against Kenya in Nairobi this week in the final round-robin match to reach the final again.
Any other result will see Kenya progress, in which case the final will be held at Outsurance Oval, Bloemfontein, from November 6 to 10.
Ireland’s four-day match against Kenya, at Nairobi Gymkhana, begins on Saturday.
An ICC statement read: “The reason for different dates is because of varying commitments of the teams involved and the limited availability of the grounds in question.
“A neutral venue is preferred over one side enjoying home advantage. Last year’s final between Ireland and Canada was held at Grace Road, the home of Leicestershire County Cricket Club.”
Ireland are aiming to win the tournament for the third consecutive year following Scotland’s victory in the inaugural season of 2003-04.
