Lockhart leads Scotland to victory

Dougie Lockhart's half century inspired Scotland to a victory that put them six points clear at the top of the table
Dougie Lockhart hit an unbeaten half-century as Scotland sealed an eight-wicket victory over Kenya in the ICC Intercontinental Cup match in Nairobi.
Scotland were set a target of 110 after bowling out Kenya for 323, with Dewald Nel taking his fifth wicket to finally end the resistance of captain Maurice Ouma, who struck a personal best of 130.
Kenya’s poor first-innings total of 91 gave Scotland a very achievable target and Kyle Coetzer and Lockhart quickly made inroads before the Durham batsman was caught out by Ouma for 34.
Qasim Sheikh failed to add to his first-innings century when he was run out for a duck but Lockhart reached 51 and Ewen Chalmers struck four boundaries from 29 balls to wrap up the victory in the 33rd over.
The victory moves Scotland six points ahead of Afghanistan at the top of the table.
Scotland will now remain in Kenya for a one-day series with their hosts and Uganda before a revamped squad takes part in the World Twenty20 qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates next month.
