TwelfthMan: My account
Scotland have recalled Dougie Lockhart for their ICC Intercontinental Cup clash against Namibia in April.
The 32-year-old batsman, who made his Scotland debut in 1995, has recovered from knee surgery and is in line for his first appearance since featuring at last year’s World Cup.
Scotland head coach Peter Steindl has named a strong squad, captained by Ryan Watson, who will be able to call on the experience of senior men Craig Wright and Gavin Hamilton.
South Africa-born all-rounder Richie Berrington, 20, is included as the youngest member of the squad and could make a third senior appearance for Scotland.
The Scots fly out on March 26 and their four-day match against Namibia begins on April 4.
Steindl said: “The trip to Namibia has been planned as a pre-season training camp, followed by a very important Intercontinental Cup game.
“The squad has been training hard indoors since early January and we are all looking forward to preparing for the season ahead in the warmth of Africa.”
Glenn Rogers will join the squad just before the Namibia match, due to work commitments preventing him taking part in the training camp.
Dougie Brown was unavailable due to injury, with work commitments keeping Colin Smith sidelined.
Scotland squad: R Watson, R Berrington, J Blain, G Drummond, G Hamilton, M Haq, O Hussain, D Lockhart, N McCallum, D Nel, G Rogers, Q Sheikh, S Smith, F Watts, S Weeraratna, C Wright.
