Moles quits as Scotland coach
Former Warwickshire batsman Andy Moles has resigned from his position as Scotland’s national cricket coach.
Moles has decided to take the opportunity to return to South Africa, where his family are resident, before looking at further opportunities.
During his 10-month spell in the job, Moles led the national side to success in the ICC Trophy in Ireland and helped them qualify for the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean.
Roddy Smith, chief executive of Cricket Scotland, said: “We would like to thank Andy for all his efforts during his time as the national coach.
“He was brought to Scotland to help us to qualify for the World Cup and he achieved this single purpose in great style.
“This was Scotland’s biggest achievement on the world cricket stage to date and Andy can take considerable credit for his role in that success.
“We wish him well in his future career in cricket coaching and I would like to place on record our gratitude to him.”
