Netherlands hold nerve
An unbroken stand of 42 between Peter Borren and Pieter Seelar saw Netherlands home to victory by two wickets to secure a 2-0 series win over the UAE in the World Cricket League clash at Deventer.
The hosts appeared to be cruising on 162 for three in pursuit of 221 for seven in the 36th over before a clatter of four wickets for 18 runs, but Borren and Seelar – 32 and 22 not out respectively – calmly accumulated until the latter plundered a maximum off Khurram Khan to seal the win in style.
UAE captain Khurram had a better time of things earlier on, top scoring with a measured 71 off 85 balls.
Meanwhile, the Royal Netherland Cricket Board have announced they will host Bangladesh for a second Twenty20 international on Thursday at Voorbury, The Hague. The initial Netherlands versus Bangladesh T20 clash takes place tomorrow at the same venue.
