Rain and a wet outfield prevented any play on the third day of the Intercontinental Cup clash between Ireland and Scotland at Belfast.
Ireland were struggling on 179 for four overnight after a heroic innings of 93 from John Blain ensured Scotland posted a competitive first innings total of 314.
Two wickets from former captain Craig Wright and two for Dewald Nel left Ireland reeling on 59 for four before an unbeaten partnership of 120 between wicket-keeper Niall O'Brien and Andre Botha rebuilt the innings.
With just one day of the match left, and more rain forecast, both teams will be playing for bonus points.
