Weather the winner at Ayr

Rain was the only winner in Scotland's clash with Kenya

Scotland were frustrated by the weather in their one-day international against Kenya at Ayr.

Conditions in the west of Scotland meant the teams were denied the planned 50-overs-a-side contest.

Ryan Watson’s side restricted Kenya to 141 for eight in 35 overs, but the Scots, who were set an adjusted victory target of 141 in the same number of overs, then saw their reply halted by rain.

Dewald Nel and John Blain each took two wickets as Kenya's top-order imploded with Steve Tikolo departing for just two to leave Kenya 32 for three.

However, Thomas Odoyo smashed four sixes in a whirlwind 45 from just 39 balls to push Kenya's score towards respectability.

Scotland had reached 31 for one in eight overs when rain stopped play at 5.28pm and the umpires abandoned the match shortly after 6pm, with no result.
