Scotland name squad
Scotland head coach Peter Drinnen has named his 15-man World Cup squad - and it is identical to the touring party which has just returned from Kenya.
Drinnen’s players secured their place at September’s Twenty20 World Championship by reaching the final of Division One in the World Cricket League earlier this month.
Scotland undertook a five-week tour which included matches in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and Mombasa and Nairobi in Kenya as they stepped up their preparations for the World Cup.
Drinnen said: “We went to Kenya with two aims, first to qualify for the Twenty20 World Championship and also to inflict a first defeat on the host country.
“We achieved both these objectives, and it is therefore no surprise that we are endorsing the entire squad for the World Cup itself.”
Scotland fly out to the Caribbean on February 26 and face matches against a local select XI, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh before the World Cup starts.
Drinnen’s side, captained by Craig Wright, face Australia, South Africa and Holland at the first stage of the tournament.
Scotland squad: John Blain (no club), Dougie Brown (Warwickshire), Gavin Hamilton (no club), Majid Haq (Ferguslie), Paul Hoffmann (Uddingston), Douglas Lockhart (West of Scotland), Ross Lyons (Clydesdale), Neil McCallum (Grange), Dewald Nel (Greenock), Navdeep Poonia (Warwickshire), Glenn Rogers (Stenhousemuir), Colin Smith (Aberdeenshire), Ryan Watson (Forfarshire, vice-captain), Fraser Watts (Greenock), Craig Wright (Greenock, captain).
