Scotland suffered a setback in their preparations for the ICC World Twenty20 as they lost by six wickets to Bangladesh in Centurion.

Scotland posted 145 for eight in their 20 overs, with Navdeep Poonia making the biggest contribution with an impressive 54 from 43 deliveries, which included two sixes.

Gavin Hamilton (21) was the only other batsman to get past 20 as Scotland struggled in a format which they are not used to.

Bangladesh lost opener Tamim Iqbal in the first over of their reply - caught by Dougie Brown off the bowling of John Blain - but otherwise looked impressive in the short version of the game.

Twenty-one-year-old Nazimuddin blasted an unbeaten 74 from 42 balls and Aftab Ahmed weighed in with 33 from 27 deliveries as Bangladesh cruised to victory, reaching 148 for four with four overs in hand.

The spin duo of Majid Haq and Ross Lyons showed why slowing the pace down has been so effective in Twenty20 cricket by claiming 1-22 and 2-21 respectively.

Scotland face Zimbabwe in their second and final warm-up game on Sunday before launching their campaign against Pakistan on Wednesday and going on to play their second match against India on Thursday.
