The Pakistan Cricket Board are planning to following the ECB's lead and make a financial contribution to the victims of the tsunami disaster in Asia.
The country’s players will donate part of their match fees from their ongoing tour of Australia, while the PCB also plans to televise an exhibition match between Pakistan and a Pakistan Select XI to raise additional funds.
PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said: “The PCB will be making a donation to the President’s relief fund set up for the victims of this tragedy.
“While the Pakistan players in Australia have also conveyed that they will be donating money to the fund, we are also planning to raise funds by organising a Pakistan and Rest of Pakistan XI match in Lahore before the Indian tour in late February.”
The ECB have already pledged £20,000 to help the relief effort.
