Ganguly gets ODI place
Former captain Sourav Ganguly has been recalled to the India squad for the first two one-day internationals against West Indies.
The selectors have omitted opening batsman Virender Sehwag, who has been suffering from a loss of form of late, while Anil Kumble and Irfan Pathan also miss out.
Ganguly, who was recalled to the Test side for the recent tour of South Africa, has been out of the ODI team since being sacked as captain back in October 2005.
He made an impressive return to the Test match arena against the Proteas, finishing the three-match series as India’s highest run scorer.
The India selectors have also named a squad of 30 ‘probables’ for the World Cup in the Caribbean, which gets underway in March.
Nagpur will be the venue for India’s first ODI against the Windies on January 21.
