Goodwin heads to Eastern Cape
Sussex stalwart Murray Goodwin has signed for South African franchise, the Eastern Cape Warriors, for the winter.
Goodwin, 33, played 19 Tests for Zimbabwe, scoring 1 414 runs at an average of 42.84 between 1998 and 2000 - and has lead the scoring tables as Sussex have challenged for the title in the Liverpool Victoria County Championship this summer.
"Murray is a great signing for the Warriors and it reinforces our strong desire and stated intent to put cricket in the area back on the map," said CEO Dave Emslie Cricket Eastern Cape.
The team has already acquired the services of Proteas allrounder Zander de Bruyn, who will captain the franchise this season.
