Torrential rain in Mumbai ensured that world champions Australia win the seven-match series with India 4-2
The seventh and final one-day international between India and Australia at the DY Patil Sports Academy was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain in Mumbai.
Torrential rain, a result of a cyclone forming in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Mumbai, has lashed the city over the last 24 hours and more rain was forecast for the rest of the day.
The match was due to start at 2.30pm local time, but with rain persisting officials eventually called off the match at 5pm - the cut-off point.
The match, however, was only of academic interest as Australia have already secured an unassailable 4-2 lead in the series.
The world champions are scheduled to return home tomorrow for a Test series against West Indies, while India face Sri Lanka in a three-Test series beginning on Monday.
