Tendulkar and Zaheer back for ODIs

Sachin Tendulkar has not played a one-day international since the World Cup final on April 2 when he hit 18 in India's six-wicket win
Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan are set to play one-day internationals for the first time since April’s World Cup final, having been named in India’s squad for the Commonwealth Bank Series also featuring Australia and Sri Lanka.
Veteran batsman Tendulkar, 38, has been rested in one-day internationals since India won the World Cup and Zaheer, 33, has suffered hamstring and ankle injuries but returned for the Tests in Australia.
Fellow seamer Praveen Kumar has recovered from a fractured rib, which ruled him out of the Tests, to be in a 14-man squad led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Praveen also missed India’s last one-day rubber, at home to West Indies. India’s party for the CB Series, which begins on February 5 when they take on Australia at the MCG, is similar to the one that beat the Windies 4-1.
Irfan Pathan, who played his first international in more than two years during that series, has retained his place along with leg-spinner Rahul Sharma, who impressed against the Windies.
Manoj Tiwary, who hit his maiden ODI hundred in the fifth game, is in at the expense of Ajinkya Rahane. Parthiv Patel is reserve wicketkeeper despite his poor run with the bat in ODIs. Yuvraj Singh continues to recover from a non-malignant lung tumour.
India squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain and wicketkeeper), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Parthiv Patel (wk), Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav, Irfan Pathan, Vinay Kumar, Praveen Kumar.
