England batsman Owais Shah will switch franchises to Kolkata Knight Riders for the third Indian Premier League competition in 2010.

Shah was an unused member of Delhi Daredevils squad for last year’s event but did later feature for the team in the Champions League Twenty20.

Shah’s move was one of only three to take place in the transfer window created to allow trading between teams prior to the next IPL auction, which takes place on January 19.

Middlesex player Shah, signed by the Daredevils for £185,000 at auction last year, moves to the Knight Riders along with Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary.

Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques, who played for New South Wales in the Champions League, moves in the opposite direction from Kolkata to Delhi, who bought Glenn McGrath out of his contract.

A total of 96 players have registered for the 2010 IPL auction including Usman Afzaal, Tim Bresnan, James Foster, Anthony McGrath, Eoin Morgan, Monty Panesar, Adil Rashid and Jonathan Trott.

Players were due to be notified today if they have been selected for inclusion in the auction after a meeting of the eight franchises.
