Sachin Tendulkar did not clear the rope, but found the boundary on 11 occasions in his 63 as Mumbai Indians prevailed
Half-centuries from Sachin Tendulkar and Saurabh Tiwary helped Mumbai Indians secure a 98-run win over Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
The pair hit 63 and and 61 respectively as Mumbai posted 218 for seven, the highest total in this year’s tournament.
Delhi never really got going in response as Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh and Sanath Jayasuriya claimed two wickets apiece to help bowl them out for just 120.
Tendulkar struck 11 fours in the 32 balls he faced, while Tiwary hit four fours and three sixes from 37 deliveries.
Ambati Rayudu maintained Mumbai’s impetus with 34 from 21 balls, including one four and three maximums. Sri Lanka seamer Farveev Maharoof and leg-spinner each claimed two wickets.
Virender Sehwag helped Delhi to a bright start with 26 and Maharoof top-scored with 28, but regular wickets - the last four for 14 runs - cost the hosts as they were dismissed with 3.3 overs unused.
