New Zealand Cricket has launched its international search for a replacement for John Bracewell.
New Zealand Cricket chief executive Justin Vaughan made the announcement today despite Bracewell still having nine months remaining on his contract.
Last week Bracewell announced he will return for a second spell in charge of Gloucestershire once his contract with New Zealand expires.
"We have a very exciting group of players for a top cricket coach to develop," said Vaughan. "We are now formally seeking applications for the role.
"We are looking for candidates who have the experience and drive to both improve the Black Caps in both forms of the game.
"We have a very good core group of players and the new coach should be looking to develop a side that will regularly win world events in the one-day arena as well as improving their Test performances.
"We need a coach who will build on the current solid foundation and take it to the next level."
NZC is searching for a coach with 12 months coaching experience at an elite level with a proven track record as a world-class coach as demonstrated by results. Applications for the role close on August 4.
New Zealand are currently ranked third in the world in one-day cricket and seventh in Test cricket.
