Lee makes his move
Brett Lee was ecstatic after becoming just the sixth bowler to take 250 Test wickets for Australia.
Lee, who claimed figures of 4-46 to help bowl India out for 196 in their first innings, collected wicket number 250 when he combined with wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist to remove Anil Kumble.
"It feels fantastic," said Lee. "When you're nine years of age you think about just playing one Test match or getting one Test wicket. To think that you're in the 250 club - it's a pretty special moment. I'm a very proud man."
It was the fifth consecutive innings that Lee had claimed four wickets, and his second success of the day saw him surpass the great Richie Benaud on Australia's all-time wickets list.
Things have not always been rosy for Lee, with the 32-year-old still mindful of the struggle he had to get into the all-conquering Australia team.
"I couldn't get a game,” he added. “You appreciate the hard times that you've been through then it makes you appreciate the good times as well.”
It was also a good day for fellow paceman Stuart Clark, who chipped in with 4-28, which included the prize scalp of Sachin Tendulkar.
Clark later revealed that he bowled to Tendulkar with a gameplan, and despite the Indian great managing 62, the plan eventually worked.
"The ball was reversing a little bit,” Clark said. “We were going to bowl straight, or set him up to bowl straight, but, in saying that, obviously there's different degrees to where we want to bowl or what we want to do.
"It was a matter of trying to force him back a little bit before going for the stumps.
"A back and a length ball to force him on back foot, but more so we were going to have a dab at his pads because the ball was reversing a bit."
