Australia fast bowler Brett Lee is to return home from the tour of New Zealand because of breathing problems.
Lee, who was part of the Australia team that beat New Zealand by two runs in the second one-day international in Wellington, has been experiencing breathing difficulties caused by a narrowing of his left nasal passage.
This is thought to be related to the cellulitis (nasal infection) he suffered from prior to this year’s Ashes tour and needed hospital treatment for.
Lee, who will return home on Thursday, said: "Whilst I am disappointed that I can't play the final match in the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy series, I am grateful that I can return home and give priority to getting my health right.”
The third match of the one-day series takes place in Christchurch on December 10 with Australia holding an unassailable 2-0 lead.
