Kervezee shines for Netherlands
Worcestershire's Alexei Kervezee struck a belligerent unbeaten 83 as the Netherlands cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Afghanistan in a World Cricket League one-day international.
After electing to bat first, Afghanistan - who recently qualified alongside Ireland for the ICC World Twenty20 - lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for just 153 in 39.2 overs.
Only Mohammad Nabi, with a 63-ball 41, offered any real resistance as medium-pacer Paul Borren and off-spinner Tom Cooper claimed 4-32 and 3-11 respectively.
In reply, the Netherlands eased to the victory target with just less than half the allotted overs remaining.
Stephan Myburgh was the only man to depart, trapped leg before by Izatullah Dawlatzai for 23, as Michael Swart, who struck 42 not out, and Kervezee eased home.
Kervezee struck 13 fours and two sixes in his 63-ball stay.
