Alan Isaac has been appointed the new chairman of New Zealand Cricket following the retirement of Sir John Anderson.
Isaac, who has been acting chairman since Anderson stepped down at the AGM earlier this month, was confirmed in the role on a permanent basis at a board meeting today.
Justin Vaughan, chief executive officer for New Zealand Cricket, backed Isaac to succeed.
“Sir John has left big shoes to fill but we are sure that Alan will be an excellent new chairman,” he said.
“Cricket is witnessing explosive growth, with new competitions backed by burgeoning media interest. It really is an exciting time for the sport.”
Isaac added: “You only have to look at Twenty20 and see its evolution in the last two years to understand the changes that are happening in the game.”
