Afridi gets ODI axe
Shahid Afridi has been dropped from Pakistan’s one-day squad for the tour of India, which begins later this month.
Flamboyant all-rounder Afridi has found runs hard to come by for some time, but retains his place in a Twenty20 squad showing several changes from the party that reached the World T20 semi-finals in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan have made six alterations to their ODI squad following a 2-1 defeat to Australia in the United Arab Emirates.

A lack of runs has proven costly for Shahid Afridi, with the veteran all-rounder losing his place in Pakistan's one-day international squad
In addition to Afridi, left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman, all-rounder Shoaib Malik and seamers Sohail Tanvir and Aizaz Cheema have been omitted, while batsman Asad Shafiq misses out through injury.
Veterans Younus Khan and Umar Gul return, together with Wahab Riaz and the uncapped duo of Haris Sohail and Zulfiqar Babar.
Left-arm spinner Babar is also included in the T20 collective, together with Junaid Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Asad Ali, Mohammad Irfan and Umar Amin.
Out go the injured Shafiq and Raza Hasan, opener Imran Nazir and all-rounders Abdul Razzaq and Yasir Arafat.
Pakistan are scheduled to play two Twenty20 internationals and three ODIs in India, who yesterday announced their T20 squad, from December 25.
