Pakistan are looking to finalise dates for the ICC Champions Trophy at an executive committee meeting of the International Cricket Council today.
The Champions Trophy was originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan from September 12-28 but was postponed for 13 months by the ICC due to security concerns.
Pakistan still retain the rights to host the tournament, but the ICC would have to make room in a packed calendar during September or October next year.
India are scheduled to host Australia for seven one-day internationals in October under the Future Tours Programme, while the second edition of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament is scheduled to be held from September 25 to October 11 next year.
"The Champions Trophy is an ICC event and we are confident that (the ICC) will secure appropriate dates for the tournament," PCB chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi said.
"We will push for a confirmation of dates at the executive committee meeting."
