The entire Pakistan national selection committee has tendered its resignation following the team's early exit from the World Cup.

Committee chairman Wasim Bari informed the Pakistan Cricket Board of the members` decision, saying their tenure only took them up to the World Cup and they shared responsibility for the team's performance.

The news comes just hours after Dr Nasim Ashraf reportedly resigned from his post as PCB chairman.

After defeats to the West Indies and minnows Ireland saw Pakistan crash out of the tournament before the Super Eight stage, Ashraf faxed his resignation to Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf - the patron of the PCB - according to a Geo News report.

The departures leave Pakistan cricket with a number of key posts vacant.

Coach Bob Woolmer died the night after the defeat to Ireland, while Inzamam-ul-Haq announced he was relinquishing the Test captaincy, as well as retiring from one-day international cricket, shortly after.

The side's performance in the Caribbean has been greeted with anger and dismay back in Pakistan, where supporters burned effigies and photographs of Inzamam.

Despite Woolmer's death, the players have vowed to go ahead with their final group game on Wednesday, when they will attempt to restore some pride by beating Zimbabwe at Sabina Park, Jamaica.
