Pietersen shines on Delhi debut

Kevin Pietersen continued his outstanding form in his first Indian Premier League appearance for Delhi Daredevils.

Pietersen followed his 193 runs in England’s second-Test win over Sri Lanka with 43 not out from 26 balls in a facile defeat of Chennai Super Kings at Delhi.

Pietersen, who previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, sent down two wicketless overs as the visitors were limited to 110 for eight after being put in.

He came in at 32 for one in the fourth over and was joined by Mahela Jayawardene, who struck a century in both Tests with England, in the sixth.

The experienced duo shared an unbroken stand of 61 in 7.2 overs to complete an eight-wicket win with 28 deliveries to spare.
