Rain ruins finale
New Zealand and Sri Lanka shared the National Bank ODI Series after the fifth and final match was abandoned due to rain.
No play was possible in Hamilton, ensuring the series ended 2-2. The Test and Twenty20 series last month were also drawn.
Though New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming won the toss and elected to field at Seddon Park, the weather prevented the players taking the field.
Despite there being no play, umpire Billy Bowden technically stood in his 100th ODI because the captains tossed up, while veteran Sri Lanka all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya celebrated his 375th ODI, a world record.
New Zealand now head to Australia for the Commonwealth Bank triangular one-day series against the world champions and England.
