Andrew Strauss has made significant strides in the Reliance ICC ODI batting rankings following his stunning 158 in England’s World Cup tie against India.

England’s captain compiled his highest one-day international score in yesterday’s clash in Bangalore and rises eight places to 13th in the standings as a result.

Sachin Tendulkar has climbed five places to 10th after making a sublime 120 in the same match and team-mate Virender Sehwag is up to sixth following his 175 against Bangladesh in the tournament’s opening game.

Australia opener Shane Watson has moved into the top 10 for the first time in his career, while the Netherlands all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate is up to 20th after his century against England last week.

Hashim Amla continues to lead the way at the top of the rankings, with fellow South African AB de Villiers in second place.

Australia’s Mitchell Johnson and Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi have each risen 12 places, to fifth and 11th respectively, in the bowling standings following their impressive displays in the World Cup thus far.

Daniel Vettori continues to head off Morne Morkel at the summit, with Graeme Swann the highest-ranked England bowler in seventh position, six places ahead of Stuart Broad.

There are no changes at the top of the all-rounder rankings, with Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan retaining the lead ahead of Watson and Afridi.
