Ryder worry for New Zealand
New Zealand opener Jesse Ryder is a doubt for the one-day series against Australia after aggravating a shoulder injury in training today.
The 24-year-old will have an MRI scan on the rotator cuff problem this evening and a decision on whether to draft in a replacement will be made tomorrow.
He will play no part in tomorrow's warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, although wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum, who sustained a hip injury in the nets, has responded well to treatment and is likely to feature.
Australian youngster Ryan Carters has been placed on standby to replace McCullum for the tour game, while fellow wicketkeeper Gareth Hopkins will join the New Zealand squad in Perth as cover in the first ODI on Sunday.
