Sami earns Test recall
Mohammad Sami has been recalled into the 15-man Pakistan Test squad for the three-Test series against India.
The 26-year-old fast bowler was not included in Pakistan's last Test squad against South Africa, but has been impressive this season in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy for Karachi Whites.
Sami played the last of his 30 Tests against Proteas in January of this year and has not featured for Pakistan since.
But 21 wickets for the Whites this season, including a career-best 8-39, seems to have influenced the selectors.
Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria also got the nod while batsman Faisal Iqbal has also been rewarded for his good performances in domestic cricket.
Mohammad Asif does not feature in the Test side because of his elbow injury and is likely to miss the remaining part of the tour as well.
Young wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed has been retained as back up for the first-choice gloveman Kamran Akmal.
Meanwhile, Imran Nazir, Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam and Rao Iftikhar Anjum are set to fly back home after the conclusion of the ongoing one-day series between Pakistan and India on Sunday.
The first Test is on November 22 in Delhi, followed by the second at Kolkata and the third at Bangalore.
