Scotland clash washed out

Persistent rain forced Scotland's second ICC World Twenty20 group match, against India at Kingsmead in Durban, to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The weather broke long enough for the Scots to win the toss and Ryan Watson elected to bowl but the teams never managed to get on the field as the rain returned and officials called it off at 8.35pm local time - more than three hours after it should have started.

One point each for the sides mean Scotland, who lost to Pakistan on Wednesday, could still qualify for the knockout stages.

For that to happen India have to lose to their sub-continental rivals on Friday with a worse net run-rate than the Scots' -2.550.
