Stars commit to tsunami match

Surrey have announced a galaxy of international stars for this month's tsunami fundraising match at the Brit Oval on June 20.

The Twenty20 match, beginning at 5.30pm will feature some of cricket's most prominent stars, which include leading Test match wicket taker, Shane Warne, who will play for the International XI.

The International XI will play an Asia XI, which will include Surrey and Indian star, Harbhajan Singh as well as fellow off-spin bowler, Muttiah Muralitharan.

The Twenty20 fundraising match will be the first of its kind, giving one of the world's greatest batsmen, Brian Lara, his first experience of the ultra abbreviated form of the game.

Also involved in the match are Alec Stewart and Wasim Raja. Stewart will manage the International XI and Raja, a former Pakistani Test cricketer and ICC match referee, will manage the Asia XI.

Paul Sheldon, Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club said:

"This special game promises a feast of entertainment from many of the world's greatest international stars in front of a newly developed ground. It is a privilege to be hosting the match for such a worthwhile cause."
